‘Busy week ahead with fifteen jump fixtures headlined by the Aintree Grand National meeting starting on Thursday. Whilst most attention is understandably on the big meeting there will also be selective opportunities for us elsewhere throughout the week. A dry and warm period is forecast. Fast ground and relatively small field sizes will be prevalent at most courses.

Aintree gets off to a glittering start with four consecutive Grade One races with another seven to follow over Friday and Saturday. The Irish challenge does not carry the same quantity as at the Cheltenham Festival but is still formidable.

The latest going report shows Good – good to soft in places on the Mildmay course and Good to Soft on the National course. Watering commenced two weeks ago and will continue through the week to maintain and improve. The Aintree course sets its own challenges in which speed and accurate jumping are crucial. It is a fascinating three days of top class National Hunt racing.’
